Division Two UpdateZoom
Red Row Welfare continue to look favourites for the title following their 4-1 victory over Craster Rovers which keeps them 2 points clear at the top with a game in hand over AFC Newbiggin and yet to drop a point this season.

Newbiggin have faltered in recent weeks dropping their first points of the season with defeat against Red Row before the festive break followed by a 2-2 draw away to Bamburgh before getting back to winning ways in a convincing 11-2 win away to Alnmouth Argyle.

Alnwick Town U21's lead a chasing pack of five and have started the year brightly with two victories, 3-2 at home against Shilbottle and 9-0 away to Amble St. Cuthberts, which leaves them clinging on the tails of the title race.

Craster Rovers, Tweedmouth Rangers, North Sunderland and Bamburgh make up the midfield of the division. It is the men from North Sunderland currently in 6th position who are the form side amongst this quartet following four wins from their last five games including a 3-0 derby win against Bamburgh.

Craster and Bamburgh have found points hard to come by in 2012 with Craster managing a point against Tweedmouth Rangers but succumbing to Red Row Welfare. Bamburgh likewise drew against Newbiggin and then lost the derby match. Tweedmouth have faired a little better than their immediate rivals picking up a point in the first fixture of the year and then thrashing Shilbottle 9-1.

Shilbottle Reserves lie seven points adrift and have only managed 6 points from the last 30 allowing themselves to slide down the table.

The bottom three have only 10 points combined and whilst Alnmouth United managed a 7-1 victory away to fellow strugglers Hedgeley Rovers it is difficult to see any of these teams making progress in the league at this time with the spirited Amble St. Cuthberts rock bottom without a point on the board.
